El Año Nuevo Chino y la Fiesta de la Primavera. Chinese New Year & Spring Festival.

Remembering my last two years in China I have recovered from my archive some pictures from celebrations Chinese New Year 农历 新年 or Spring Festival, Chunjie 春節.

During these two years I photographed the celebrations and customs of the Chinese people during their most important festival in Shanghai and Beijing. Rituals in temples and streets, crowded railways stations and airports. They call chunyun 春运, the largest annual human migration in the world.

zhōngwǔ xiūxi ma?

Has echado ya la siesta? / Have you had a nap today?

Shanghai ( 上海 ) is the most populous city in China with almost 24 million inhabitants, making it one of the most populated cities in the world. It occupies an area of almost 7,000 km².

Cosmopolitan and "star piece" of the fastest growing economy in the world, the pulse of the city does not rest or respite. The daily life of the inhabitants of this megalopolis is exhausting. Chronic fatigue. Endless trips between huge human masses that incredibly flowed through the streets, subways, underground, etc, without collapse.

Find a moment to take a breath and relax even for a while, it is vital to survive in this environment. And as Xin Jin Ping´s government says, "continue building the Chinese dream".

zhōngwǔ xiuxi ma? , whose translation is "have you had a nap today?", is one of the terms used in China to say good afternoon.
